i think i'm gaining quite a reputation for myself, and i'm not sure if that's a good thing.

sure...i'm hoping people would know me enough to want to listen to my reports. and i guess being "known" is a way of putting my scout group, as well as my service, out to the public.

but i'm not sure if me being outspoken is rubbing people the right way, especially when it comes to those who've been doing things the same way for decades.

over the years, i've realized how unnecessary it is to have everyone like you. so i've sorta dropped the whole "smile even when you're feeling shitty" ditty. surprisingly, i seem to be garnering even more attention when i don't smile. geez...the quirks of the world.

i hope through me being straight, people would learn to respect my scout group as one that does not conform.

i certainly do not want to misrepresent my scout group in any way.

as much as i don't need to have everyone like me, it'd be nice if the people in my group respect me enough to adapt to my style.

it'd be nice if i'd be seen as an asset.
