someone asked me if i was straight. today.
and when he did, i got quite a shock, but just smiled and countered "what makes you ask that question?"
he said "because there are times when i get some non-straight vibes from you. there are times you don't seem to like men."
then it turns out that the whole company wanted to know if i was, or not.
i was really amused by all of that...so i just played along...teased them for a bit and kept them guessing.
then i ended it with "i'm as straight as straight can be. i like men. but..."
and then he grinned and asked "but what?"
and i left it at that. haha.
for those who've known me for a while, you'd know that this isn't the first time i've been asked this question. my own mother once wondered if i was lesbian (when everyone else's daughters started dating and i refused to).
there's another thing: i seem to attract gay men. no, i don't turn them straight. but they seem to like me.
twice since the culmination of college girls, whenever i met friends of other members of the cast, they'd exclaim "oh...so YOU'RE SERENE..." and i'm like "huh?"
the first time, i asked eileen (the girl who exclaimed) what she had heard about me. and she totally flattered me. that's all you need to know. ;)
the second time was this evening. this guy KK tagged along with two of the cast to our hang-out. and when he went around the table, introducing himself to us...and came to me, he was like "oh...so you're serene...hmm..." then everyone started laughing. firdaus asked "okay...so out with it. what did you hear?" then trevelyan (the baby of the group) said "Roy likes you. he really likes you." and i'm like..."huh? so what's new?" and then everyone burst out into peals of laughter. i swear we almost knocked the kopitiam table over.
you see...Roy...he's the gay who asked if i was straight.
are the pieces now falling into place?
can you make sense of all this drama in my life?
if you can, speak now...for i would love to hear your take on this.
and oh, by the way...i'm not a fag hag.
