THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES (PART TWO)
not all bike riders look cool on their bikes.
not all pillion riders lean on the fella in front.
i recently hung out with a guy friend with a nice, big bike...and because i'm a little shy (oh stop sniggering and let me continue), i politely hold on to the guy's shoulders and lean back on the box behind me.
all's fine when he cruises along.
when he hits a bump or two though, my back hits a bump or two as well...against the box.
the first couple of times that happened, i tried to sit straight, but found it really odd.
but i couldn't possibly lean forward because uh...because i'm shy? (stop laughing!)
so i just grit my teeth and lean back. =(
and this just occurred to me...
the bike is pretty interesting.
because if i were hanging out with someone i don't really know in a car...we might fall into occasions of silence and it might get awkward.
with a bike, you can't really talk, so you kinda converse a lot at your destination.
there's not much communication during the bike ride, except for short stops at traffic lights where he turns back and grins at you or passes a quick comment.
i don't know where i'm going with this though.
hmm.

Snigger Snigger =P
LOL, u've learnt to kiap your knees of his butts. So just put your arms on your tighs or hold his waist while leaning a bit forward lah. (Pretend u're also riding instead of just a pillion).
This kind of posture can get a bit tiring after a while though. That's why if journey is long, just lean on him and hold around waist lah. Best! hehehe. (ok, I get the shy part =P)
He must be pretty 'gentle' while pillioning you, coz bike journeys can be quite 'intense', and u'll hardly be able spare any attention away from the roads =) (Even as pillion, ... if going fast, u'll need to watch for corners, humps, etc. and brace yourself, etc.)
If only I have a bike too, I would give you a ride anytime too. now, if only I have those China bicycle, would that not be more romantic? ;)
Anon, hehe... romantic? Theoretically maybe, but in Singapore's context, riding bicycle on the roads = dangerous. Riding bicycle on pavement = illegal. Hardly romantic =P
wow...what a detailed "pillion-rider's guide". =)
fortunately for me, i'm beginning to discover the comfort of leaning forward instead of backwards.
though this kinda thing would only come about as you get more comfy with the fella.
we'll see.
anon: i've tried riding on one of those bicycles before...i'm sure you won't want my ass to be bruised as we cruise over those humps and gravel, would you? =P
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste
It all revolves around you
And there's no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I love you (I love you)
until the end of time(until the end of time)
Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day
